MAINTENANCE works planned for the Sandbanks Ferry have been delayed by adverse weather conditions.
The vessel was due to be towed to Falmouth today for a major refit that would see it out of action for four weeks.
But this morning, Sandbanks Ferry anounced its depature was delayed due to “poor weather conditions”, and that they were “waiting for a weather window” to tow it safely.
They confirmed the ferry remains out of service.
Every two years, the chain ferry undergoes a refit, alternating between major and minor refits.
Operators have previously said they hope the service will be back by early December and an exact date will be released nearer to then.

Due to poor weather conditions, our departure has been delayed. We are waiting for a weather window so that we can be towed down to Falmouth. The Ferry Service is not running.
