TUESDAY saw strong winds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole- here’s what the Met Office has predicted for the rest of the week.

Wednesday is set to begin with clear skies, reaching a peak temperature of 15C at 11am before cloudy conditions arrive at lunchtime. Rain is expected to begin around 4pm, and there is a chance this could amount to thunderstorms between 8pm and 9pm. The afternoon will be accompanied by high winds of up to 47mph.

The forecaster predicts the rain to carry through the early hours of Thursday, and continue until 6pm that day, before changing to partly cloudy by early evening. A few sunny intervals on Thursday afternoon could see temperatures reach 12C. Winds aren’t expected to exceed 19pmh in daylight hours.

Friday could be the day that everyone looks forward to this week- with sunny conditions, few clouds and 12 degree temperatures expected. Similarly to Thursday, the winds aren’t expected to climb much past 20mph.

Saturday morning will see cloudier conditions, with rain arriving late morning, and potentially continuing through till the evening. Winds could start to pick up after lunchtime too, but aren’t expected to exceed 32pmh.

Sunday is also set to begin with cloudy conditions, but this should change to sunny intervals by late morning. Light rain is only expected between 12 and 3pm, with the rest of the afternoon and evening staying clear. Winds are expected to sit around 30mph throughout the day.
