FREE travel is being offered to armed forces personnel on Morebus services for Remembrance Sunday this month.

As well as displaying poppies on its buses over the coming weeks, the local bus operator is offering free travel on all its buses for members and veterans of the nation’s armed forces on November 11 and 13.

“People in this region are rightfully proud of our country’s military - as is our team here,” said Morebus managing director Andrew Wickham.

“As part of this community, we are keen to show our support for servicemen and women.

“We hope, by proudly displaying our poppies and raising awareness for the Royal British Legion, we’re backing our words with actions.

“On Friday November 11 and Sunday November 13, we welcome all those wearing their military uniform, displaying medals, or showing their military ID card on board our buses, and they may travel for free with us all day.

“Our drivers will also be pulling over at 11am as a mark of respect to observe the two minutes’ silence.”
