A MAN has appeared in court for having a ‘handgun’ in the grounds of a Bournemouth church.
Craig Anthony John Scattergood, aged 28, was alleged to have had the unloaded air weapon in the area around St Clement’s Church in Boscombe on February 2.
The defendant appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on October 21 and pleaded guilty to a single charge of having the imitation firearm.
Scattergood, whose address was given as Slepe Crescent, Poole, was fined £200 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs.
It was also ordered that the handgun be forfeited and destroyed.
