POOLE Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sitting on a bench was assaulted and had his phone stolen by two males. 

At approximately 2.30pm on Monday, October 17 the victim, a local man aged in his late teens, was sitting on a bench outside Cobham Sports and Social Club facing Gavel Hill when two people ran behind him.

It is reported that the two male offenders assaulted the victim and stole his phone, before running away.

The victim sustained an injury to his head that required medical treatment.

Officers investigating a robbery in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Thomas James, of Poole police, said: “An investigation is underway and I am appealing to any witnesses, or any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam, to please get in touch.

“I understand a number of members of the public came to the victim’s aid following the incident and I would ask them to please come forward as they may hold important information to assist my enquiries.”
