POLICE are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after an attempted robbery of a scooter from a boy in Ferndown.

At around 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 12, the victim – a 16-year-old boy – was riding on a scooter at the junction of Fitzpain Road and Ellesfield Drive when three men moved in front of his path.

The men – who were all wearing hooded tops – demanded to go on the boy’s scooter. After the victim refused, one of the men grabbed his arm while the other two attempted to steal the scooter.

The victim fled the scene on his scooter and was followed by the men for a short distance. As he reached the Tesla Centre in New Road, a car performed an emergency stop to avoid the victim and the men.

Police Constable Matt Shewbridge, of Dorset Police, said: “This incident understandably has left the victim feeling very distressed.

“I would like to speak to the owner of the vehicle who stopped at the scene of the incident as they may have important information or dashcam footage to help my enquiries.

“Also, I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or knows who was responsible to please come forward.”
