THE Nando's restaurant in Bournemouth town centre has reopened a week after a fire.

Bh2 leisure complex was forced to close on Sunday, October 16, following a fire at the national chain's unit.

Some of the businesses in the complex reopened on the same day of the incident, while the majority reopened in the days that followed.

TGI Fridays, which is located directly beneath Nando's was back open by Thursday having suffered water damage from sprinklers, which activated during the fire.

On October 16, a spokesperson for Bh2 told the Daily Echo there had been a technical issue with the electricity at Nando's, which had set off the fire alarm. As a result of the fire in the switchboard, the electricity had to be turned off.

The alarm prompted the water sprinklers which caused damage to both Nando’s and TGI Fridays down below, it is believed.

Providing an update on the afternoon of Saturday, October 22, the spokesperson said: "We're happy to announce that Nando's at Bh2 leisure, Bournemouth, will be reopening today at 4pm."
