PLANS have been submitted for the new festive bar experience coming to Bournemouth town centre this year.

Organisers have tabled the proposal for The Après Terrace, which is set to take over the area outside the Pavilion looking out over the gardens.

Alpine Christmas Markets Ltd has submitted the planning application with BCP Council for the temporary use of the site.

The applicants want to instal temporary igloo domes for seating, a tented area with container seating and food, beverage and toilet containers.

The proposal also includes a food truck, decking, tables, chairs and ski gondola with festoon lighting.

Permission is sought to erect the festive setting on the site from November 4 to January 4 on an annual basis.

The offering would expand on the successful igloo dome offering which traded on the terraced area last year.

Organisers have said The Après Terrace will allow you to drink and dine under the stars in the heated festive domes or join the festivities in the all-new bar complete with seating booths, games, and live music.

The food offerings will include handmade pizza and festive burgers from El Murrino and The Street Kings.

As reported, The Après Terrace is part of the planned seasonal offering from the team who also organise the town centre Christmas market, which is set to return to the Square from November 18 to January 2.

Simon Brooks, director of Bournemouth Christmas market, said: “We are delighted to be adding ‘The Aprés Terrace’ to this year’s Bournemouth Christmas celebrations.

"A new experience to compliment the Christmas Tree Wonderland offering, our heated domes will provide the perfect date night and relaxed dining experience alongside stunning views over the Lower Gardens.

"Meanwhile, our all-new covered Aprés Bar on the Terrace will give guests the opportunity to play and party with a lively mixture of shuffleboard and air hockey games as well as a fully stocked bar of festive favourites.”

The Après Terrace is already taking online bookings. For more details are available theapresterrace.co.uk/domes The planning application is currently being assessed by council officers.
