UPDATE: Dixie has now been found

POLICE are appealing for information from the public as they search for a missing teenage girl from Bournemouth.

Dixie Ward, aged 14, was reported as missing having last been seen in the West Howe area on the morning of Monday, October 17.

A further sighting was subsequently reported at the Castlepoint Shopping Centre on the morning of Tuesday, October 18.

Dixie is described as white and five feet six inches tall with short pink and red hair. She was last seen wearing a thick quilted black and white shirt, black jeans and black Adidas trainers.

Inspector Jon Wasey, of Dorset Police’s Missing Person Support Team, said: “We are becoming concerned for Dixie’s welfare and are carrying out searches to try and locate her so we can make sure that she is all right.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding her whereabouts, or who sees a teenage girl matching the description given, to please contact us immediately.

“I would also like to appeal directly to Dixie if you see this appeal to please make contact with us – we just want to check that you are OK.”
