THE steps leading down from Highcliffe Castle to the beach have been closed for repair works.
The ‘routine’ works being carried out by BCP Council involve repairing damage to steps and the handrail, and the clearance of stones and other material from the treads.
Tape has been used to block public access, with the closure expected to be in place until the end of the week.
A spokesperson for BCP Council said: “The steps running from Highcliffe Castle down to the beach have been taped off due to routine repair works being carried out. We anticipate that the steps will be reopened by the end of this week.”
