MYSTERY surrounds a boat which was found washed up on a beach in Christchurch.
A small dinghy was found abandoned on the beach at Steamer Point over the weekend - but where it came from remains unknown.
BCP Council confirmed that they were aware of the boat, and were organising its removal, but could not explain its presence.
They did suggest that it could have come loose from its moorings but were unable to confirm this.
Their spokesperson said: “We are aware that a small dinghy was washed up on the Steamer Point shoreline over the weekend.
"Its removal is being organised and will take place later this week.”
The Daily Echo also contacted HM Coastguards to see if they were aware of the boat, or if they had any ongoing searches for someone at sea.
They had received no reports on the matter.
Do you know who the boat belongs to?
