Police are hunting a suspect after an aggravated burglary and disturbance at a property in Bournemouth.

Armed officers and the police dog unit along with uniformed police are searching for a person following an aggravated burglary involving a knife in High Howe Lane in Bournemouth on Friday night.

Police say a disturbance at the same address was then reported in the early hours.

It is believed it was the same suspect. Police have said the victim and suspect are known to each other.

The police helicopter has been deployed in the search.

Patrol cars have been seen in the area, with some residents saying officers have been in the area for a couple of days.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 8.05pm on Friday to reports of an aggravated burglary at an address in High Howe Lane in Bournemouth.

"One man sustained injuries to his face and a quantity of cash was stolen. It was reported the suspect was in possession of a knife.

"Officers, supported by a firearms team and dog unit, attended the area to carry out a search for the suspect, but this was not successful.

"A further call was received at 4.30am on Saturday 15 October 2022 to reports of a disturbance at the same address believed to involve the same suspect.

"Uniformed officers, along with firearms officers, the dog unit and the NPAS helicopters have attended the scene and a search of the area is underway.

"No arrests have been made.

"The victim and suspect are known to each other."
