A GERMAN-inspired venue said to be Bournemouth’s ‘best kept secret’- Brass Haus is Pub of the Week.
Found on Westover Road, Brass Haus is a lively pub and bar that has been inspired by Germany’s great bier kellers and underground music scene.
It was formerly known as The Brasshouse, but an epic renovation in 2020 saw it re-branded as Brass Haus and transformed into a “truly unique experience” for customers.
Sadly, just one week after revealing the refit in March, the arrival of the Covid pandemic forced Brass Haus to close.

General manager, Steve Dew, said that for this reason, many Bournemouth residents aren’t aware of just how great it is.
He said: “It didn’t have a proper re-launch after its refit. People don’t know it’s here or remember it from the old Brasshouse.
“I think its Bournemouth’s best kept secret.”
A visitor to Brass Haus can expect to enjoy great food and drink, with plenty of Germany-inspired options to choose from, including bratwursts that can be loaded with toppings.
Students will be able to grab a good deal on food with the arrival of student nights on Thursdays, seeing them get meals for half the price with a valid student ID.
The venue also hosts an array of live entertainment such as DJ’s and music performances on Fridays and Saturdays, and screenings of live sporting events throughout the week.
All of this entertainment can be enjoyed from the comfort of a cosy booth, or from the rows of benches that have taken inspiration from a German beer hall.

Steve said that these benches have helped to build a “friendly” atmosphere in Brass Haus. He added: “The whole point of the benches is that two of you can come in and could end up sitting next to four people, and feel as if you’re part of something.
"It’s the venue where you can come whether there is two of you, or there is 200 of you.”
