POLICE have issued an update after a bar in Bournemouth was taped off for several hours on Sunday.

The Pirata bar in Charminster was cordoned off on Sunday morning into the afternoon with officers in attendance.

Giving details, police said a woman had been found injured in Charminster Road at 1.20am.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury which police said was sustained during an “incident” at an address in Charminster Road.

Police said a man was arrested in connection with the incident, but no offences were identified, and he was released without charge.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Following enquiries, it was established that the injury was sustained during an incident at an address in Charminster Road.

“A man aged in his 40s was arrested in connection with the incident, however, following further enquiries and contact with the injured woman, no offences were identified and he was released without charge.”
