AN insurance company has created an academy to grow its own teams for the future.

A-One Insurance Group, which has offices across the south, has created the new academy at its head office in Rngwood.

The academy will provide a “steady flow” of newly trained and skilled employees into the A-One team.

Candidates will have the chance to gain fully funded qualifications such as business admin Level Three NVQ and a Cert CII.

No age restriction is in place and people will not require A-Levels to be considered.

A-One operations director Sarah Smith said: “The creation of the A-One Academy is an ambitious and imaginative approach to ensure we have the very best people coming through to join our teams.

"It also gives everyone a great opportunity, especially candidates that want to work and be successful but didn’t have a good school experience or are yet to find a career that suits them.

“It is no secret that recruiting new talent has been a struggle for everyone over the past couple of years; creating our own academy gives individuals the opportunity to identify where in the workplace they are best suited.

"It also means that we welcome individuals with a fresh, driven attitude with a desire to learn as much as they can, to put themselves on a rewarding career path.”

There will be an 18-month training plan for all recruits, which will consist of classroom training, field trip case studies and on-section training across the different departments.

Sarah added: “What’s also key for us is that it really gives individuals the opportunity to gain an insight into a variety of roles before finding one that suits them.

“Our academy graduates will also be fully supported with further qualifications in the area that they choose to work.

"Whether that’s a diploma in insurance or other recognised qualifications within the operational departments, should they wish to certify their newly acquired skills further.”

A-One said it is committed to enrolling six academy graduates through the scheme in its first year.

Enrolment will take place in small batches, with plans to have intakes in April and September.
