Barrack Road in Christchurch has reopened after engineers were able to locate and repair a gas leak.
Part of the road has been closed for more than a week to allow SGN to investigate and repair a gas leak in the road.
The works were due to be completed by last Friday, but due to the complexity of the project were extended into this week.
The closure of the carriageway between Stour Road and Fountain roundabout has caused long delays for residents across the conurbation.
Bradley Barlow, spokesperson for SGN said: "Our engineers were able to locate and repair the leak in Barrack Road on the evening of Monday 3 October.
"We’d like to thank the local community for their patience while we worked to locate and repair our gas network."
