FIFTY per cent of BCP’s roads minimum need to be no through roads for anyone except cyclists.

That means keeping the Wessex Way for freight and bikes only.

Nothing else is going to speed up journey times for everyone, including emergency services, disabled drivers and deliveries.

Drive into the no through roads and out again, but not through them.

This is how cities all over the world have got their traffic flowing again, by making walking and cycling safe instead of knocking down half the town and putting in extra lanes, which just fill up again five minutes later.

The 1980s is over. We need to stop running this conurbation as a monument to failed traffic policies and get BCP cleaned up once and for all.

Oil imports are ruining our economy – time we put a stop to that. You want to work in Southampton, fine, take the train or move there.
