A MAN who was caught with a machete which had a blade longer than 25 centimetres in Bournemouth has avoided an immediate prison sentence.
Taron McQueen, aged 24, pleaded guilty to having the bladed article in Christchurch Road on September 2.
Appearing in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on September 28, McQueen was committed to prison for four months, suspended for 12 months.
This included a requirement to take part in up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
The defendant, whose address was given as Langton Road, Bournemouth, was ordered to pay a £154 surcharge and £85 costs.
The court ordered that the machete be forfeited and destroyed.
