A DOG died in a fire at a property in Christchurch on Wednesday evening.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Miller Road in the Somerford area at 7.21pm.
Three fire crews attended the fire which broke out in a first-floor bedroom of the semi-detached property.
No one was in the property at the time.
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a semi-detached property in Miller Road, Christchurch at 7.21pm last night for a fire in a first floor bedroom.
“Crews attended from Christchurch, New Milton and Springbourne, and two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet and a main jet to extinguish the fire.
“Nobody was in the property at the time but, sadly, a pet dog was inside and passed away.
“Our stop was at 8.06pm.”
The spokesperson said the fire started accidentally.
