A MAN has been charged following a three-vehicle crash in Bournemouth on Wednesday afternoon, September 28. 

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence following the crash in Ensbury Park Road and has since been charged.

The crash involving a moped, BMW and a Vauxhall Astra, was reported to police at 5.09pm.

The rider of the moped was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers attended the incident along with the ambulance service.

The road was closed and reopened shortly before 6.30pm.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We received a report at 5.09pm on Wednesday 28 September 2022 of a collision involving a moped, a BMW and a Vauxhall Astra in Ensbury Park Road in Bournemouth. Officers attended with the ambulance service and the road was closed.

“The rider of the moped was taken to hospital for treatment.

“The road reopened at around 6.25pm."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 16.58hrs to a road traffic collision in Bournemouth.

"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and conveyed one patient to Bournemouth Royal Hospital.”

The man is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
