A MAN has been jailed for several months after he was caught with a kitchen knife in Bournemouth town centre.
Gordon Royston Letts, 62, pleaded guilty to having the blade in Post Office Road, Bournemouth, on August 26.
He also admits stealing a woman’s bank card and using it to withdraw money and make purchases totalling £385.98 in Dorchester on February 3.
The defendant, who had failed to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates’ Court on September 12, appeared in the dock at the same court on September 21.
Letts, of no fixed abode, was committed to prison for a total of 26 weeks, the majority of the term being for the possession of the knife.
The court ordered that the knife be forfeited and destroyed and that the defendant should pay a £128 surcharge.
