LUSCIOUS green grass has finally returned to parks and open spaces across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.

Nearly two months ago, spells of prolonged dry weather saw parks across the conurbation turn to brown, dried earth.

But pictures taken in the final week of September highlight what a little bit of rain can do.

Christchurch Quay is one public park to have experienced a real change over the last couple of months.

The grass was left parched following soaring temperatures, and weeks without any significant rainfall in the summer months.

Its poor state was only worsened after an amber heat-health warning was introduced to Dorset on Tuesday, August 9. It predicted ‘fine and dry conditions’ and a ‘prolonged sunny spell’ through to Saturday, August 13.
