POLICE have been out on patrol in Poole after receiving reports of illegal parking outside a school.
PCSOS Matt and Sam went on foot patrol outside Livingstone Road Infant & Junior School on the morning of Wednesday, September 21.
It followed reports of motorists parking their vehicles on yellow zigzag lines outside the school to drop their children off.
In a Facebook post, Poole Police issued a reminder that such parking is illegal.
They wrote: “Please note parking on these yellow zigzag lines is illegal and drivers are likely to face a fine for doing so.
Rule 243 of the Highway Code indicates a range of places where motorists must not park, including on a bend, a dropped kerb or the brow of a hill. It also states that drivers must not park near a school entrance.
"These parking measures are implemented for a reason - to protect children and members of the public. Parking obstructs visibility for parents and children trying to cross the road, which is clearly highly dangerous.
"Stay safe and avoid parking dangerously.”
