A WOMAN was left with a “nasty injury” after being bitten by a dog while walking across a pedestrian crossing in Bournemouth.

At around 12pm on Thursday, September 8, a woman aged in her 60s was walking across a pedestrian crossing in Holdenhurst Road, Springbourne, when she was approached by a man with what was believed to be a Malinois-type dog.

The dog bit the victim on the arm, causing a deep laceration. Members of the public came to the victim’s aid while the dog owner left the scene without leaving his details.

The man with the dog is described as being aged in his 40s with long brown hair.

Officers investigating the dog bite incident have issued an image of a man they would like to identify in connection.

Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “This incident left the victim with a nasty injury, and we are carrying out enquiries to identify the dog owner involved.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man from this image to please contact us.”
