A NEW date has been announced for the Arts by the Sea Christchurch event after it was postponed following the death of the Queen. 

The event which was orginally due to take place on Saturday, September 10 will now take place on Saturday, October 8. 

A spokesperson from the Arts by the Sea Festival said: "PLAY Christchurch has now be rescheduled for Saturday, October 8.

"Save the new date now as this pop-up event, run in conjunction with Christchurch BID will be a day full of creative activity and magical performances.

"Fun for all the family to enjoy and free to attend.

"Full updated schedule coming soon. There will be some changes in performance times and locations due to the postponement. Stayed tuned for updates."

At PLAY Christchurch, residents will be able to experience a programme of participatory and intriguing art across Saxon Square and Druitt Gardens and in pop-up spaces around the town.
