A WELL-loved coffee shop in Tuckton has been rebranded to operate as a wine bar in the evenings.

Mocha Turtle has remained a popular spot for a coffee or cake, but now its customers are being treated to an entirely different service.

From 5pm, the day coffee shop now transforms into Tipsy Turtle- a wine bar with a bustling atmosphere and a tasty nibbles menu.

It follows a re-brand by owner Rosie Hodgkinson. She said: “I wanted to take it a little further away from what it was when we opened 12 years ago.”

Rosie has also made changes to the furniture and decor at Mocha Turtle with the new wine bar in mind. She said: “When I decided I was going to open it as a wine bar in the evenings, I knew I needed to change the whole place around, change the look of it and make it classier.

“My friend Laura is an interior designer- she came and gave me all the ideas. I’m really pleased with it; it looks so different.”

Rosie only launched Tipsy Turtle last month, but is already enjoying the transitions from day café to evening wine bar, changing her slogan to ‘coffee by day, wine by night’.

She said: “In the evenings, everything is darker, the candles are on, and we have twinkly night lights, and we change the music. So, it’s just really pretty.

“Everyone who has come in has said how lovely it is. They’ve said the wine is lovely, and the place is really cute.”

Whereas Mocha Turtle customers would typically enjoy a coffee and a cake, Tipsy Turtle customers have the pick of an impressive drinks menu, made up of cocktails, ales, spirits and of course, wine.

There are also nibbles and sharing platters available, including a cheese board with a selection of local cheeses, alongside homemade-spiced pear and apple chutney.

And Rosie hasn't forgotten about man's best friend; there is even a A La Bark menu, with treats, sausages and puppuccinos.

Rosie said: “It’s a wine bar predominantly, but we do have other things available.”

Mocha Turtle, and Tipsy Turtle, are found at 184 Tuckton Rd.
