LazyTown Live, Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth

IT'S the children's TV phenomenon that's had aud- iences in 100 countries glued - yet teaches wholesome messages about healthy eating and exercise.

But with its mix of upbeat music, movement and comedy it couldn't be more fun.

LazyTown Live stage show proved even more exciting as tiny children not only found themselves shouting out for the hero and villain panto-style but on their feet copying all the moves and singing along to songs about everything from teamwork to positive thinking.

In a typical storyline the "slightly above average hero" Sportacus, the utterly believable gymnast champion Julian Essex-Spurrier, flies, flips and somersaults into the Pavilion in his airship to save the inhabitants of LazyTown from lazy super-villain Robbie Rotten.

Dance-crazy Stephanie is also new to the town and meets a zany mixture of characters children can clearly identify with from candy-loving Ziggy and possessive Stringy to the trouble-maker Trixie and Pixel who loves technology and gadgets and playing computer games.

Robbie Rotten plots to banish Sportacus from LazyTown with the help of a robot and they battle it out with skipping and running competitions.

I asked my mesmerised three-year-old what his favourite bit had been. He answered: "Sportacus - he saved the world."

It doesn't get more impressive than that!
