MOREBUS will pause all their services on bank holiday Monday for the Queen’s funeral, so drivers can watch the historic event.

All services run by Morebus will pause between 10am and 1pm on Monday, September 19.

The bus operator will also run its buses to a Sunday timetable on the day, as the country watches Her Majesty’s funeral.

Morebus said there may be further disruption until around 2pm as all vehicles drive back into their correct locations.

Morebus managing director Andrew Wickham said: “With His Majesty King Charles III declaring the day of his mother’s funeral - Monday 19 September - a bank holiday, we have revised our services.

“We know many of our drivers will want to observe this significant event in the history of our nation, so we are also planning a cessation of services for the duration of the funeral.

“Along with millions of people, both in the UK and across the world, many of my colleagues are feeling a sense of loss.

“The funeral will be an opportunity for people to come together, pay their respects, and reflect on the life of a unique monarch who lived her life in dedication of her subjects.”

Morebus recently announced a new winter timetable will come into force next week.

Morebus said a lot of the alterations are minor, with a few routes including the m1, m2, 10, 14, 16, 17, 20, 38 and X3 all having tweaks to peak times to better serve customers in the colder winter months and improve the reliability of the service.

The X6 timetable has also been reviewed to aid reliability, along with an extension to include Bearwood Estate and the removal of route 11 from Poole to Bearwood to go alongside this.

The Purbeck Breezer, as always, will have slightly reduced services over the winter period. Routes 30, 31, 35 and Durlston5 will be removed for the winter period. Route 12 will also be removed with route 70 operating into the winter between Alum Chine and East Cliff.

The UNIBUS services will continue to operate on the same timetable as in the 2021/22 academic year.
