A BOURNEMOUTH post office has a new postmaster and revised opening hours from this week.

It has been confirmed that from September 13, the post office in the Boscombe precinct will operate under new management.

Speaking about the new service, a Post Office spokesperson said: “Boscombe Precinct Post Office has transferred to new management on September 13.

“A new Postmaster has taken over. New opening hours have been agreed of: Monday to Friday: 9am-5pm, Saturday: 9am-2pm.”

Residents have experienced a disrupted service at the post office this year.

In March, the Daily Echo contacted the company after receiving reports from residents of irregular opening times and regular closures.

At the time, a Post Office spokesperson said: “Boscombe Precinct is experiencing staffing issues and the branch is currently closed on Fridays and Saturdays and other ad hoc times.

“We are working hard to restore a full-time branch in the near future. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. In the interim alternative branches include Boscombe East, Southbourne Grove and Malmesbury Park.”

Residents continued to report issues and the service had not been fully restored until now.
