A TEMPORARY junction closure has been extended to remain in place until this weekend as part of travel improvement works.
The closure of the Canford Magna junction with Magna Road is to remain in place until Saturday, September 17, with a road diversion in place.
Phase three out of four for the Gravel Hill to Bear Cross Roundabout project is set to conclude this month and will see the introduction of several new improvements to the roads around Canford Magna.
This latest phase of work was set to conclude on Monday, September 12, however BCP Council has since said the closure will remain in place and thanked residents for their patience.
The phase three design plans state there will be:
- A new shared walking/cycling path will be constructed on the north side of Queen Anne Drive between Merley Lane and Canford Magna.
- New toucan crossings and traffic signals will be installed at the Canford Magna junction with Queen Anne Drive/Magna Road.
- Refurbished and improved bus stops with raised access to make it easier to get on and off buses.
A Transforming Travel spokesperson said: “Thank you for your patience while we build a greener, healthier, better connected region.”
