MOTORISTS are experiencing long delays on the first day of roadworks in Christchurch.
Roadworks have begun in Somerford Road whilst a new drain is installed and have already caused traffic chaos.
Residents have reported "severe" disruption, and traffic queuing around the Sainsbury's roundabout.
Contractors are working in Somerford Road in the area between the roundabout and the turning for Wilverley Road.
The works are expected to continue until Friday, September 23.
