LULWORTH Castle’s motor show is to go ahead this weekend after discussions following the death of the Queen.

The show, by Dorset Blind Association, will go ahead on Sunday, September 18 between 11am and 4pm – a day before the Queen’s funeral.

A statement from Dorset Blind Association said: “In light of the recent news of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's sad passing, we send our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family.

“We have considered the government guidelines and discussed our event plans with our team at DBA and Lulworth Castle to make the best decision regarding the event.

“As the funeral is now confirmed to take place on Monday, 19th September, we have decided to continue hosting our event on Sunday.

“To pay our respects to the Queen, we will include a one minute's silence during the day. We hope you support our decision.”

The free event will showcase more than 200 vehicles on the castle’s showground.

Live entertainment will also be there as well as a kids’ fun area, food stalls, a beer tent and local craft and produce stalls.

The motor show will raise money for Dorset Blind Association, which supports blind and partially sighted people in Dorset.
