HEAVY rain, thunderstorms and sunshine were seen across Dorset last week.

As we enter further into September, fortunately more settled conditions are on the cards for the next few days.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures will see us into the new week and currently it looks as though we will be able to leave our umbrellas at home after the torrential downpours endured last week.

Here is the current forecast for the next few days according to the Met Office.

We will keep you updated of any significant changes or if any weather alerts are issued.

Monday, September 12: cloudy, 22C

Tuesday, September 13: cloudy, 22C

Wednesday, September 14: cloudy changing to sunny intervals by late morning, 21C

Thursday, September 15: sunny changing to cloudy by late morning, 19C

Friday, September 16: sunny, 18C

Saturday, September 17: sunny, 18C

For the forecast between September 16 and 25, the Met Office says: “This period will start with generally dry weather, sunny spells, and some isolated showers.

“While the east and northeast could see some cloudier conditions with scattered showers, potentially heavy.

“Winds largely moderate but fresh along the east coast. Dry weather continues through the weekend, with a risk of showers remaining in the east, where it will continue to be breezier.

“Higher pressure is likely to become centred across the UK after the weekend, bringing dry weather for many, but with the possibility of rain spreading across the north, perhaps locally heavy at times.

“Temperatures rather cool but rising through this period, with some chilly nights and overnight fog and mist patches throughout.

“This period is likely to end with high pressure breaking down, making way for more unsettled conditions.”
