A SUCCESSFUL start for a new sunglassess business has seen it sell out of an initial promotion offer in less than a week with orders coming in from all over the world.

Poole-based Times Eyewear is a sustainable sports sunglasses business that first launched on August 30 and has already had engagement from more than 90 countries.

Business partners Jamie James and Tom Parsons are also celebrating hitting their Kickstarter funding target in just 18 hours of a 30-day campaign.

£19,500 has now been raised smashing their target of £7,900.

It means the duo now have the funding in place to start manufacturing their flagship product.

The sunglasses are made from plants with no hinges to break so the product will "never fall off".

Mr Parsons said: "We’ve been overwhelmed by the response from people all; over the world that can’t wait to get their hand on a pair of Times.

"In the first week we’ve had sales from all over the world and the campaign has had engagement from over 90 countries from USA to Madagascar.

"We now have the funding in place so we can start the manufacturing process with our factory in Italy to start hand-making the frames ready for a December delivery.

"Times sunglasses are made from plants, never fall off using our patent pending flexible strap and they fold flat so you can wear them under a t-shirt or jacket when the sun goes in! They also have no hinges to break and can be completely disassembled.

"The early bird discount was limited to 200 pairs which fully sold out in under a week but we still have some left at 30 per cent off."
