Do you remember the Cooper Dean roundabout before it had a flyover?
We have found this interesting aerial photo in the Daily Echo archives of the Cooper Dean from the 1980s showing the layout of the time and just before the flyover was constructed.
Previously the junction was a crossroads between the B3062 Holdenhurst Road and Castle Lane, when the Holdenhurst Road was upgraded to dual carriageway in the 1960s the junction became a roundabout.
In the 1980s the flyover was built and Castle Lane East was upgraded to a dual carriageway to help serve the then new Bournemouth General Hospital.
