AN AREA of seafront parking at Bournemouth beach has been blocked off for contractors working on the new environmental hub.
BCP Council is upgrading the power resources for the facility at Durley Chine.
As reported, the hub, which is aiming to reduce waste and eliminate single use packaging across the conurbation, was due to open in spring.
However, the council said the project had suffered “complications” due to Covid, material shortages and disrupted supply chains.

The local authority has worked with Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks to create a new substation but a trench was needed to take the new cabling to the site.
A decision was made not to do this work during the peak summer season.
A BCP Council spokesperson said: “From today we'll be upgrading the power resources for the seafront at Durley Chine which will support ongoing improvements including the Environmental Hub.
“A small area of car parking will be used for the site works.
“The works will not affect any of the currently available disabled parking spaces, access to the nearby footpaths or the Durley Inn or Superhuts.”
