VANDALS have attacked school buses at a business park in Blandford.

The weekend attacks were made at the Sunrise Business Park on Higher Shaftesbury Road.

Every window was smashed in two vehicles owned by Damory Coaches, which operates school contracts for Dorset County Council.

One of the vehicles attacked was a double-decker.

A spokesman for Damory said the cost of replacement glass could run into thousands of pounds.

"We're lucky in that we're able to source replacement glass relatively quickly," said Ian Gray, Damory's Blandford manager.

Fire extinguishers and emergency hammers were stolen from vehicles belonging to Damory and other operators based at the park.

"We can't run the vehicles without fire extinguishers," said Mr Gray.

But he said no disruption was caused to passengers.

"It was a close-run thing, but we sourced as many fire extinguishers as we could, and we didn't lose any services," said Mr Gray.

A spokesman for Dorset County Council confirmed that its school services had run normally.

Sergeant Justin Woodward from Blandford Police said: "It's important we find the mindless vandals responsible."

Police are looking at CCTV footage of the business park.
