A chef who imported class A drugs and supplied his friends with drugs has been jailed.

Luis Antunes Valente Du Arte Cardoso, 36, of Wootton Gardens, Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to four offences of importing drugs, MDMA, amphetamine on two occasions and cocaine.

He also admitted possessing hallucinogens psilocin and DMT, as well as MDMA and cannabis, all with intent to supply.

The defendant also pleaded to possession of LSD and Ketamine. He was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Wednesday, August 3.

Prosecuting, Tom Wright told the court in January 2020, police intercepted a package destined for Cardoso’s address which contained 20.04g of MDMA and 29.18g of amphetamine.

In May the same year, packages were intercepted containing 13.22g of amphetamine and 4.93g of cocaine.

Police attended Cardoso’s address the following month, where they discovered 4.71g of psilocin, a hallucinogenic.

Officers also found seven grams of DMT in both liquid in granular form and 91g of MDMA. 88g of cannabis was also discovered.

Finally, there were four tabs of LSD and 40 to 80g of ketamine for personal use. £1,000 in cash was also found.

A drug expert estimated the maximum value of all the drugs was more than £12,000, Mr Wright told the court.

Judge William Mousley QC sentenced the Portuguese international to two years eight months imprisonment.

A FRAUDSTER who stole a car and motorbike and even tried to dupe his neighbour by claiming he had been burgled in France has been jailed.

When Stuart Franklin was questioned or someone refused his offer on a car, he unleashed a series of vile messages falsely accusing people of being “paedophiles” and “child molesters”.

His series of offending between March 2020 and November 2021 caused a total loss to the value of £20,000.

At a Bournemouth Crown Court hearing, sentencing judge Recorder Clive Dow told the 56-year-old defendant: “I have no doubt that stealing from people, lying to them and then justifying that to yourself has almost become as normal to you as breathing.”

The judge said Franklin, who previously pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation, three counts of theft and two counts of sending an offensive, indecent, obscene, menacing message or matter, never had any intention to return the property or money he had taken from his victims. He was sentenced to 16 months' imprisonment.

A man who worked as a school bus driver has been jailed for trying to groom a ‘child’ to engage in sexual activity online.

Daron Milton sent messages to what he thought was a 12-year-old girl in an attempt to incite her to perform sex acts on herself.

The 53-year-old Bournemouth man was actually communicating with an undercover officer from West Midlands Police.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard the defendant engaged in message exchanges with the ‘girl’ between July 18 and August 13, 2020, over platforms Kik and WhatsApp.

He was eventually arrested by Dorset Police officers in September 2020 after he had completed the end of day school run in his role as a bus driver.

Prosecuting, Sadie Ruzzo said it was the defendant who first contacted the account set up by the undercover officer on the Kik messaging application.

She told the court this involved him sending a message which said: “Hi beautiful, how are you?”

Ms Ruzzo said Milton’s messaging in the weeks that followed exhibited “grooming”.

The court heard he called the ‘12-year-old’ “sweetheart” and “beautiful”.

The communication involved the defendant giving graphic instructions on how the ‘girl’ could perform a sex act upon herself.

Milton was jailed for three years and eight months. He was placed on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life and made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.

Mesach John Knighton Stephens

A WOMAN feared for her life when she was strangled on multiple occasions by her boyfriend as he demanded that she transfer money to his bank account.

A row broke out between the couple which led to Meshach John Knighton Stephens putting both hands around his then partner’s neck at least three times.

The victim reported seeing dots in her eyes as she was attacked by the 24-year-old in his Bournemouth flat.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard as the woman ran off from the flat Stephens was laughing and he asked her what she was scared of.

After the incident on April 20 was reported to police, officers attended the address and found the defendant hiding in the loft.

Stephens, of Christchurch Road, Bournemouth pleaded guilty to robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of cannabis and cocaine.

Judge Jonathan Fuller QC, who jailed the offender for four years, told Stephens he had developed an “entrenched pattern” of “violent behaviour against partners”.
