POP rock band The 1975 will bring their huge UK arena tour to Bournemouth next year, it has been announced.

The band will perform at the BIC on Monday, January 9, as part of their 14-date tour of the UK and Ireland.

The tour will be in support of the band’s fifth studio album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, which is released on October 14.

Earlier this week, the quartet dropped their latest single I’m in Love With You which will feature on the forthcoming new album.

Formed in Manchester in 2002, The 1975 have established themselves as one of the defining bands of their generation with their distinctive aesthetic, ardent fanbase and unique sonic approach. 
 

The band’s previous album, 2020’s Notes On A Conditional Form, became their fourth consecutive number one album in the UK.

The band were named NME’s Band of the Decade in 2020 after being crowned Best Group at the BRIT Awards in both 2017 and 2019.

Their third studio album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, also won Mastercard British Album of the Year at the 2019 ceremony.

The 1975 made their long awaited live comeback last month, headlining Japan’s biggest rock festival Summer Sonic 2022 in Tokyo and Osaka before returning for two headline slots at Reading and Leeds Festival. 

Tickets are available via fan presale from Wednesday September 7, with tickets then on general sale on Friday September 9.
