EMERGENCY services have responded to a two-car crash that saw a road closed in Bournemouth.

Fire and ambulance services attended a two car crash in Richmond Park Road shortly after 7pm on Thursday.

One person sustained minor injuries and was treated by the ambulance service.

The road remained closed for approximately an hour whilst the incident was dealt with, and vehicles were recovered.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at around 7.15pm on Thursday September 1 to a report of two vehicle collision in Richmond Park Road in Bournemouth.

"Officers attended with fire and ambulance services. One person sustained minor injuries and was treated by the ambulance service. It is not clear whether or not they went to hospital.

"Road was closed while emergency services on scene. Vehicles were recovered and road reopened at around 8pm."

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew from Redhill Park were called to reports of a road traffic collision at 7.17pm yesterday evening (Thursday, September 1) at the junction of Bennett Road and Richmond Park Road.

"On arrival the crew found a two vehicle RTC. Firefighters made the vehicle safe and supported the Ambulance Service with one casualty. The stop message was received at 7.33pm and the crew returned to the station at 8.41pm."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 7.20pm on Thursday, September 1 to a road traffic incident in Bournemouth. We sent a double-crewed land ambulance”.
