THE WIMBORNE Orchestra is a community orchestra based at St Nicholas Church, Corfe Mullen.

The group has over 60 members, but more are always welcome.

A spokesperson from the orchestra said: “We are particularly keen to hear from players of the following instruments: Viola, Bassoon, French Horn and Trombone.

“All standards are welcome, so even if you haven’t played for years, or have only started relatively recently, why not come along and give it a try.

“We play a range of music from popular classical to music from films and shows.”

The group meets on Monday evenings during term time from 7.30 to 9.00 pm. Covid-19 precautions are in place and there is adequate free parking at the church.

They are currently rehearsing for their next concert which will take place on Monday, October 17 at St Nicholas Church.

Admission is free and there will be a retiring collection in aid of Leukaemia Busters, a charity supported by the late Bob Cox, former cellist and long-serving secretary of the Orchestra.
