Bournemouth and Poole College recently played host to guests from one of its international partner colleges when representatives from The Shandong College of Tourism and Hospitality visited the UK.
As part of the college's ongoing investment in international business, staff are developing closer links with institutions overseas.
Choosing sector specialists, the college has partnered with the Shandong College to host students on vocational courses in hospitality and catering and tourism, subjects for which Bournemouth and Poole College enjoys specialist status.
The college is well resourced in these areas with post-16 teaching professionals, excellent facilities and a wide portfolio of academic and vocational qualifications.
The college has also partnered with Bournemouth University for degree level studies in the service industries and tourism. Bourne-mouth is rated as top in the country for tourism courses.
Director of international operations Ian Baggaley said: "Bournemouth and Poole are obviously beautiful parts of the country where tourism and hospitality are key sectors. On a return visit, our guests from China were impressed not only by the location, but were delighted to tour our facilities and meet with students, staff and employers."
Students from both China and Japan also choose to study in Bournemouth for other subjects including floristry which has seen a significant growth in interest from students overseas.
