IT WAS a busy bank holiday weekend for Dorset Traffic Cops with vehicles seized and a number of motorists stopped for suspected driving offences.
The Dorset Police Traffic Cops were out and about as visitors flocked to the county.
Two drivers were reportedly issued with notices for dangerous defects, nine vehicles were seized and 15 drivers were reported for varyous suspected offences.
A van driver was stopped after avoiding the police on a road in Poole over the weekend.
The police reportedly discovered the motorist to be a disqualified driver who tested positive for cannabis.
An examination then found deflated tyres and no nearside mirror. Officers made an arrest and the vehicle was seized and prohibited.
On Friday, another incident was dealt with involving the owner of an Audi who was previously banned for drug driving. This time the police discovered the vehicle hadn't been taxed since October 2021. The driver was reported and the vehicle was seized.
Another incident on Friday involved a heavy vehicle in Christchurch. A truck was found to be 1,560kgs (44.5 per cent) over its maximum weight with its load of loose soil and one shovel not secured.
The driver was reported for the offences and the vehicle was prohibited.
