FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a fire at Canford Heath which is suspected to have been started deliberately.
Fire control said the incident was contained to a small area although people were asked to avoid the area.
The blaze was the second fire at Canford Heath on Sunday afternoon.
A fire engine from Springbourne was at the scene on the Gravel Hill side of the heath, along with three 4x4 vehicles from Redhill Park, Ferndown and Wimborne fire stations.

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "The fire involves an area approximately 20 metres by 20 metres. We are using beaters to put it out along with off road vehicles supplying water.
"We received a couple of calls from members of the public at around 3.30pm. It is suspected that the fire was started deliberately."
The incident comes just an hour after crews extinguished a small fire around 10 metres by five metres at Canford Heath on the southern side of the open space.
