ANOTHER bus service was attacked in Bournemouth with the vehicle suffering a smashed window on Saturday night.

The incident involving a Morebus number 14 service on the evening of Saturday, August 27, in Bournemouth had an impact on other routes in the conurbation.

Morebus bosses took the decision to divert the 5, 5a and 14 routes for the rest of the evening as it did not want to put passengers and drivers at risk.

The criminal damage comes just days after the transport firm took the decision to re-route services in West Howe due to a window being smashed by youths throwing objects at the bus.

A Morebus spokeswoman said: "The incident on Saturday was a 14 bus that received a broken window at 9.40pm.

"That bus and driver were next due to operate a service to Wimborne and back, hence the delay to 3 and 4 services. There was no actual vandalism on those routes. The services that were diverted were 5, 5a and 14.

"There are no plans at this stage to pull any routes tonight, because the locations of attack have varied. The team will monitor the situation and react accordingly - and will discuss plans with police before making any further decisions."
