AN ARREST has been made after a man allegedly exposed himself before sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Wareham.

Dorset Police responded to a report at around 9pm on Wednesday, August 24, that a man was exposing himself in the area of the bridge by The Quay.

Officers attended and a 42-year-old Poole man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

It was further reported that the man inappropriately touched a teenage girl, who has not been identified at this time.

Officers investigating the reported exposure and sexual assault are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Ryan Higgins, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone else with information that might assist our enquiries, to please come forward.

“I would also urge any motorists who were in the area to check their dashcam footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
