If you were hoping for some sunshine to enjoy over the bank holiday, then you are in luck.

While Bournemouth won’t be seeing a return to the heatwave conditions experienced earlier in the month, it should still be feeling warm enough to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

And there are plenty of events nearby to get along to, including the Great Dorset Steam Fair, 2022 British BMX Championships, Wimborne in Bloom Duck Race and the final Friday night fireworks on Bournemouth seafront of the summer.

Met Office weather – Bournemouth Bank Holiday

So get your sun cream and shades at the ready as clear skies are predicted from Saturday to Monday.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “The period is likely to be drier and brighter, with spells of warm sunshine as high pressure builds over the weekend.”

To help you out with making plans, here’s how the weather is expected to behave day by day.

Saturday, August 27

Without a cloud in the sky and a less than 5% chance of rain, it's a fine start to the weekend.

Expect highs of up to 21C during the day, only dropping to around 15C overnight.

Sunday, August 28

A similar picture for Sunday although it may become a little cloudy in the afternoon, clearing again by evening.

Just as warm in the day and potentially a little warmer overnight, compared to Saturday.

Monday, August 29

And it's more sunshine on Monday with cloudless skies on the cards. Similar temperatures to Saturday and the perfect end to the long weekend.
