A WOMAN sustained serious injuries following an assault in Boscombe on Friday evening.
The victim, a 34-year-old local woman, sustained a serious head injury during the incident in Boscombe Crescent at around 8.45pm.
A 30-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation.
Now police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Kate Brew, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I believe there were a number of people present, as part of a wider group, during the incident that led to the victim sustaining a serious head injury, for which she was taken to hospital.
“We need to establish what exactly happened. Therefore, I am appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to contact us as soon as possible.”
