THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised for Poole Hospital by a convoy of tractors in Purbeck.
The Purbeck Coast Tractor Run in July has raised £21,218.93 for the Dorset Cancer Centre at Poole Hospital.
The event saw 154 tractors travel across Purbeck over roads, private land and National Trust trucks, passing spectacular scenery from Swanage, Corfe Castle and round to Old Harry Rocks and Studland.
The tractors were welcomed to the finish line with live music, a hog roast and a bar.
There was also a wood display by the Adams Axemen, an auction hosted by Symonds and Sampson and a tombola stall run by volunteers of Poole Hospital.
Philip and Ben Trim of Philip Trim Contactors were delighted to hand over the cheque to Poole Hospital.
A spokesperson for Philip Trim Contactors said: “We would like to thank everybody who came along to the event, the companies and people who sponsored and donated, and local communities who came along to join in and support us, or who came out along the route to cheer the tractors along!
"This money raised is in addition to the first tractor run in 2019, and the campsite that Philip and Ben open up at Throop Hollow Farm during August where fundraising continues, and brings the total sum raised for the Dorset Cancer Centre at Poole Hospital to £49,318.93."
