AS THOUSANDS of students across the country came together to celebrate their A-level results, not everyone had the opportunity to revel in their success in person.

Students at St Edwards School in Poole were sent their results, instead of having the option of attending the school in person.

Headteacher at the school, Mr Antram, apologised if some students were disappointed, but said consultations were undertaken.

He said: “Student consultations were undertaken informally by staff and from this we understood that students were generally satisfied with a new approach of receiving their results online.

“Our students were reassured by the fact that teachers were on hand remotely to support them throughout the day or to arrange a 1-1 meeting in person.

“All our students will also have the opportunity to meet once again and share their results stories as usual at our celebration evening in September.

“We will review A level results day arrangements again for next year in consultation with our students and we’re sorry if some students were disappointed by not coming into the school today.”
